  The name of the key is in the far left column; flats and sharps in the key are in the far right column.   The second tutorial explains how we determine whether to use flats or sharps in that column.   Notes a half step apart are separated by one fret on the guitar; other notes are separated by two frets.  
  The common keys of C, D, F, and G are displayed so that there is a dark box on the right hand side of the list of flats and sharps.   In Table 2A "adjacent" keys are in adjacent rows.   For a description of how to create these keys, go to the first tutorial, then to the second tutorial.
