MINOR SIXTH CHORDS
 
The diagrams below show several forms for Minor sixth chords.   Use notes 1 - b3 - 5 - 6 in a particular key to create the chords.   For an explanation of the figures, go to the notation file.   To understand how the chords are derived, go to the tutorial on keys.   Table 3 is a quick summary of how chords are formed, and Table 2 contains all the notes in all of the (major) keys.

The forms on the left can be moved along the neck.   When moving the Am6 form, exclude the open fifth (A) string.   Those on the right are six of the forms that cannot be moved along the neck.   Here are four more forms for the minor sixth chords.
